30th Sunday of Ordinary Time

Pharisee_and_tax_collector_1024x544.jpgLuke 18:9-14

The Parable of the proud Pharisee who prayed from his self-importance and the tax collector who prayed humbly.

The Parable is about attitude in prayer. In contrasting the prayer of the Pharisee with the prayer of the tax collector, Jesus teaches his disciples to pray in humility before God. Jesus again surprises his listeners by showing the tax collector as the example of faith, rather than the Pharisee.

Crazy Sock Day

What a wonderful sight it was on Crazy Sock Day! The school was bursting with colour, laughter and creativity as students proudly showed off their brightest, silliest and most unique socks. It was fantastic to see everyone getting into the spirit of the day while supporting such an important cause. With a friendly game of Captain Ball - proudly won by the teachers.

Through everyone’s generosity, we were able to raise valuable funds to support Socktober for Mission Month, helping people in need. A big thank you to all families for your donations and enthusiasm!

Fr Michael & the Rosary Beads

Fr Michael visited all the students on Tuesday, and humbly gave every student, and staff, a set of beautiful, wooden Rosary beads. He spoke about the significance of the Rosary, and how our new saint, Saint Carlo Acutis, famously stated "The Rosary is the shortest ladder to Heaven".
Mrs Sparrow was showing some Yr 1 students her Rosary beads from the Vatican, and Harriet proudly proclaimed, "Yes, but we got our Rosary beads from the new Pope!" Fr Michael chuckled and was humbly complimented when told about Harriet's declaration.
While visiting Yr 2, Fr Michael gave Jordan a special blessing as it was her birthday.
On behalf of our school community, thank you very much Fr Michael for your generous gift to our school community.
